
The Harstine Island Community Club promotes educational, cultural, art, and social opportunities for our community, our off-island neighbors and for all the new friends we have yet to meet. The club actively manages and preserves the Harstine Island Community Hall, respecting the storied history of the Hall and the Island while looking forward to the future.

TRL Anywhere Library
The Timberland Regional Library’s (TRL) Anywhere Library is a mobile service that brings library resources directly to our community, enhancing accessibility and engagement to book resources. The Anywhere Library visits the Harstine Island Community Hall on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. During these visits, patrons can obtain library cards, borrow and return books and DVDs, pick up holds, access Wi-Fi, and utilize printing services. Following the library services, a Storytime session is held at 11:00 AM, offering engaging activities for younger patrons. This initiative reflects TRL’s commitment to making library services more accessible and fostering a love for reading within the community.

Grief Support Group
A support group for those experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one, diagnosis of terminal illness or disability, divorce, loss of a home or a meaningful loss in life meets every Monday from 11:30AM-1:00PM at the Hall. The group is currently working through the book, It’s OK That You’re Not OK by Megan Devine.

Collage Journaling Art Class
Learning the Art of Collage Journaling Unleash your creativity and explore the artistic, expressive world of collage journaling! Unlike traditional scrapbooking, collage journaling (also known as junk journaling) is all about free-form creativity, combining collage, mixed media, repurposed materials, and personal storytelling into beautifully unique journals. There are no rules—just endless possibilities to play with textures, colors, and found objects to craft something truly one-of-a-kind.
This beginner-friendly, 3-class, once a month series invites you to relax, experiment, and discover your creative flow while getting to know your island neighbors in a fun, welcoming environment. Tots Art & Tumbling 0-6yrs
Join us for Tots Art & Tumbling on Mondays! Designed for children ages 0–6, this playful, skills-based 5-class series blends movement, creativity, and early learning in a joyful environment. Led by educator Alyssa Warren from Grassroots Learning, each session invites little ones to explore art, coordination, and connection through themed activities and gentle tumbling fun. Summer Kindness Rocks Painting Club
Brighten someone’s day—one rock at a time! Join us for our Kindness Rocks Painting Class, where creativity meets community in a fun and inspiring way. Painting kindness rocks is not just an art project—it’s a movement! Across the country, people are finding joy in discovering colorful, hand-painted rocks with uplifting messages, hidden in parks, trails, and neighborhoods. Now, it’s your turn to create and share kindness in your own community.
Using smooth river stones, you’ll have the option to paint freestyle with acrylic paints or use easy-to-control acrylic paint markers—perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. Garden Club Meeting
Harstine Island Garden Club a group of local recreational gardeners who are passionate about learning, sharing, and fellowship in all things related to gardening. We strive to support the community by selecting annual projects that make an impact on the island and surrounding areas.
HIGC meets at 4:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Harstine Island Community Hall. We seek out opportunities to learn through field trips, expert speakers, work parties, and shared knowledge. You do not need to possess gardening skills to join!

Thursday Morning Yoga
POSTPONED until we find an in-person teacher. This class is open to beginners and offers an all-levels yoga experience and is currently led by video as we work to find a weekly teacher. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle and any additional yoga props for added comfort.

Caregivers Support Group
Caring for Caregivers – A support group for those participating in the caregiving of seniors, those affected by dementia or Alzheimer’s disease and homebound members of our community. The Caring for Caregivers group meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Hall. Join us June 18th, 7:00PM, 2025.

Drum Circle
Got Beat? Join the Harstine Island Community Drum Jam! Experience the energy and rhythm of a live drum circle at our improvisational drum jam on June 20th, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Harstine Island Community Hall. Whether you’re a seasoned drummer or just want to feel the beat, this event is about creativity, connection, and the joy of making music together!
Bring your drum or percussion instrument and dive into an evening of call-and-response, sound-off rhythms, and free-flowing beat improvisation. Drum circles have been used for centuries across cultures as a way to reduce stress, build community, and elevate mood—it’s a fun, expressive, and energizing experience!

HITC Summer Play
This summer the Harstine Theatre Club will be performing Noel Coward’s play Blithe Spirit . Novelist Charles Condomine invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant Madame Arcatito his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his willful and temperamental first wife, Elvira. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles’s marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.

NEW ~ Did you know that over 10,000 children entered the foster care system in Washington state last year? This Caring for Our Community Project brings together volunteers who gather for a “packing session” where boxes are filled with personal care essentials and a few comfort items. Theatre Club Meeting
The Harstine Island Theatre Club, established in 1984 by the late professional actress and island resident Shirl Conway Larson, offers a welcoming environment for individuals interested in exploring and expressing their creative talents through theatrical productions. The club actively supports the arts community by organizing three performances a year. They meet on the last Monday of every month at 6:30PM at the Harstine Island Community Hall. Whether you’re interested in acting, directing, set design, or any other aspect of theater production, the Harstine Island Theatre Club provides a friendly and supportive space to nurture your passion. Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
Join us for the HICC Labor Day Weekend Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, August 30th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM! Come one, come all to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast while supporting the Harstine Island Community Hall. This fun-filled event runs alongside the kickoff of the Summer Outdoor Farmers Market, making it the perfect way to start your day! The cost is $10 per person or grab a Family Stack for $25. Your support helps HICC continue to bring social, cultural, educational, and art events to the Community Hall. Don’t miss this cherished island tradition—good food, great company, and a fantastic cause!

TRL Anywhere Library
The Timberland Regional Library’s (TRL) Anywhere Library is a mobile service that brings library resources directly to our community, enhancing accessibility and engagement to book resources. The Anywhere Library visits the Harstine Island Community Hall on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. During these visits, patrons can obtain library cards, borrow and return books and DVDs, pick up holds, access Wi-Fi, and utilize printing services. Following the library services, a Storytime session is held at 11:00 AM, offering engaging activities for younger patrons. This initiative reflects TRL’s commitment to making library services more accessible and fostering a love for reading within the community.

Women’s Club Meeting
Join us for the Harstine Island Women’s Club September Picnic Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 4th! Enjoy a relaxed and welcoming gathering with fellow women in the community as we connect over lunch, conversation, and shared interests. Social time begins at 11:30 AM, followed by lunch at noon—this month, it’s one of our favorites, the End of Summer Picnic. At 12:30 PM, we will hold our monthly meeting to discuss upcoming events, community projects, and ways to stay involved. The Women’s Club is dedicated to fostering friendship, supporting local initiatives, and strengthening our island community. We look forward to seeing you there!

Come enjoy the FUN of Game Night with your Island neighbors. Card and board games bring on the challenge for all skill levels. Held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at the Community Hall. 6:30PM-9:30PM, FREE!

Drum Circle
Got Beat? Join the Harstine Island Community Drum Jam! Experience the energy and rhythm of a live drum circle at our improvisational drum jam on September 19th, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Harstine Island Community Hall. Whether you’re a seasoned drummer or just want to feel the beat, this event is about creativity, connection, and the joy of making music together!
Bring your drum or percussion instrument and dive into an evening of call-and-response, sound-off rhythms, and free-flowing beat improvisation. Drum circles have been used for centuries across cultures as a way to reduce stress, build community, and elevate mood—it’s a fun, expressive, and energizing experience!
Who Can Join?
Best for ages 8 & up to actively participate, but all ages are welcome to listen, enjoy, and soak in the rhythm! Donation: A $5 donation is appreciated to help cover the cost of the hall.

Packing Foster Care Boxes
NEW ~ Did you know that over 10,000 children entered the foster care system in Washington state last year? This Caring for Our Community Project brings together volunteers who gather for a “packing session” where boxes are filled with personal care essentials and a few comfort items. You can register and make an additional donation or if you are unable to attend this event, but would still like to donate to the cause, please click the link below.

Harstine Island Talent Show – Calling All Performers! Mark your calendars for a fun-filled evening as we showcase the incredible talents of our island community! On November 8th, join us for a lively and heartwarming talent show featuring both kids and adults sharing their unique skills—whether it’s singing, dancing, comedy, juggling, storytelling, or something entirely unexpected! This is a fantastic opportunity to cheer on your neighbors, celebrate local talent, and maybe even step into the spotlight yourself. Garden Club Meeting
Harstine Island Garden Club a group of local recreational gardeners who are passionate about learning, sharing, and fellowship in all things related to gardening. We strive to support the community by selecting annual projects that make an impact on the island and surrounding areas.
HIGC meets at 4:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Harstine Island Community Hall. We seek out opportunities to learn through field trips, expert speakers, work parties, and shared knowledge. You do not need to possess gardening skills to join!

Celebrate the season with us at this fun and festive hands-on wreath making class! Using a variety of lush, fresh evergreens, you’ll learn how to create a designer-quality wreath to decorate your home or give as a thoughtful handmade gift.
Come solo or team up with a friend to share a wreath kit and enjoy the holiday cheer together. Light refreshments will be served, and you’ll be surrounded by neighbors, laughter, and the scent of winter greens as we craft our way into the holidays.
$25 per wreath kit for HICC Members | $32 for Non-Members
