About Us
Harstine Island Theatre Club was established in 1984 by the late professional actress, and island resident, Shirl Conway Larson. She wrote, directed, and produced many early plays. In the beginning the club produced many Vaudeville shows drawing from the island residents’ talent.
Over time the club has gone through various phases depending on the talents of those involved. During the 1990’s we produced massive musicals under the direction of Gene Nelson. In the years since, the club has grown from an island centric club to now include many members from the wider community. In May of 2022 Daniel Frishman, a retired professional actor and 30-year island resident, was elected to serve as club manager.
The Harstine Island Theatre Club is a friendly, welcoming place for those who wish to explore, learn, express their creative skills, and put on productions. We welcome diversity.
