About Us
Harstine Island Theatre Club was established in 1984 by the late professional actress and island resident Shirl Conway Larson. She wrote, directed, and produced many early plays. In the beginning the club produced many Vaudeville shows drawing from the island residents talent. Over time the club has gone through various phases depending on the talents of those involved. During the 1990’s we produced massive musicals under the direction of Gene Nelson. It has also grown from an island centric club to now include many members from the wider community.
Fundraisers
Donations at performances are used to support the programs and fund scholarships to students pursuing theater arts in college.

Join Us
Theatre Club needs not only actors, but many behind the scenes jobs such as set building, light and sound design, props gathering, costumers, ushers, refreshment servers, the list is endless. We also need people willing to come to our meetings the last Monday of each month, 7:00 pm at the Harstine Island Community Hall. At the meetings we discuss and plan which shows we will perform and organize other club business, and we want as many voices as possible involved in the planning. Contact join-hitc@harstinecc.org.
