About Us
The 2025 Harstine Island Garden Club had a busy year filled with workshops, speakers, and gardening fellowship. From February through May we met every Friday at the Harstine Acres greenhouse to pot seed and tend plants for our annual Plant Sale. In addition, 150 squash plants were started and donated to the Pioneer Food Bank “Squash Hunger” program. The 2025 Plant sale, held at the Harstine Island Community Hall, was very successful with record breaking attendance and proceeds. Leftover plants were donated to non-profit organizations within the community. Through out the summer, the HIGC booth was active at the Farmers Market selling fresh produce and flowers, baked goods and crafts. Monetary donations in 2025 were made to the Wild Felid Advocacy Center, the Harstine Island Fire Adapted Community, Pioneer School Garden Program, South Sound Fruit Society, Harstine Island Theatre Club, Harstine Island Community Club, and several local food banks.
After many years of service, the HIGC Leadership Team stepped down at the end of 2025. The Harstine Island Garden Club will be suspended until a new Leadership Team steps forward to volunteer. We thank the community for your support and enthusiasm toward our Club over the years. Please reach out to an HICC Board member if you would like to step forward to lead the Harstine Island Garden Club.

K-12 Education — Provide support to public school “green” educational programs
