Crossing Delancey

Crossing Delancey, by Susan Sandler, is the story of Isabelle, a modern young woman who lives alone and works in a book shop. When she is not pining after the handsome author Tyler Moss, she is visiting her grandmother (Bubbie) in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. This irascible granny and her friend Hannah, have found a “good catch” for Isabelle, whose initial reluctance gives way to a blossoming romance when she finally meets Sam, the pickle vendor, as the end of the play offers a new beginning.

The players are Sheryl Fellman as Bubbie, Amy Byykkonen as Isabelle (Izzy), Sheryl Hughey as Hannah, the matchmaker, Ted Schroeder as Sam, and Monty Cobb as Tyler. Crossing Delancey is directed by Barb Hubbard, assisted by Anne Strathairn and Jeannine Sturtevant. Light designer is Greg Fellman, with Steve Andrews handling sound. Backstage is DeeAnn Meacham and Liz Brunner.
